Teen arrested for making threats to Cedar Shoals High School

Athens-Clarke County Police have arrested and charged a 16-year-old student at Cedar Shoals High School with making terroristic threats against the school.

On Sunday, October 31, the Athens-Clarke County Police Department began investigating a threat to commit a shooting at the high school. Several students and parents observed the threats via social media and notified ACCPD.

“As a result of an investigation, a 16-year-old male Cedar Shoals High School student was taken into custody for felony terroristic threats,” says police department spokesperson Lt. Shaun Barnett.

The juvenile was detained by the Department of Juvenile Justice. There is currently no active threat at Cedar Shoals High School, says Barnett.
