A suspect wanted in connection to a Phenix City murder was apprehended in Columbus according to the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office.

On Friday, May 15, 2026, the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office Collaborative Intelligence Group and the Phenix City Police Department, successfully located and arrested wanted fugitive Tomarius Murphy in Muscogee County. Murphy was wanted in connection with a murder that occurred in Phenix City on May 11, 2026.

Murphy also had outstanding warrants through the Phenix City Police Department for Felony Hindering an Investigation and Tampering with Evidence. Murphy was transported to the Muscogee County Jail without incident and awaits extradition to Alabama.

This case remains under investigation and additional charges may be pending.
