Brown named Cleveland’s water resources director

CLEVELAND, Ga. — The City of Cleveland has appointed Scott Brown as its new water resources director.

Brown brings 18 years of experience in water and wastewater operations to the position. He most recently served as water and sewer superintendent for the City of Lavonia.

“Scott brings extensive experience and a strong understanding of water and wastewater operations to this position,” City Manager Kevin Harris said. “His knowledge and leadership will allow him to make an immediate impact on our Water Resources team.”

Brown will oversee Cleveland’s water and wastewater operations and work with city leaders and department staff to maintain reliable service, manage infrastructure and prepare for the city’s long-term needs.

His appointment comes as Cleveland moves forward with a wastewater treatment plant expansion intended to strengthen the city’s infrastructure and accommodate future growth.

“With the wastewater treatment plant expansion becoming a reality, the timing of his arrival could not be better,” Harris said. “We are excited to have him on board as we take on this important project and continue planning for Cleveland’s future.”

Brown said he looks forward to joining the city and helping guide the expansion.

“There is a lot of important work ahead, particularly as the city moves forward with the wastewater treatment plant expansion,” he said. “I look forward to bringing my experience to the role and helping ensure Cleveland’s water resources are prepared to serve the community well now and into the future.”
