White County, Cleveland schedule budget hearings

WHITE COUNTY, Ga — Residents in White County and the City of Cleveland will have opportunities next month to review and comment on proposed fiscal year 2026-2027 budgets before final adoption.

The Cleveland Mayor and City Council will hold a budget hearing for the city’s proposed fiscal year 2026-2027 budget on Thursday, June 4, at 8:30 a.m. at the Oak Springs Center, 342 Campbell Street.

City leaders are scheduled to hold the second reading and formal adoption of the budget on Monday, June 15, at 6 p.m., also at the Oak Springs Center.

The proposed city budget summary will be available for public inspection beginning Monday, June 1, online at City of Cleveland budgets and audits and at Cleveland City Hall during regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

White County budget hearings

The White County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on the proposed county budget on Monday, June 8, at 4:30 p.m. in the board room of the White County Administration Building, 1235 Helen Highway in Cleveland.

Commissioners are scheduled to consider adopting the budget during a called meeting on Monday, June 15, at 9 a.m. at the same location.

Copies of the proposed budget summary will be available for public inspection beginning Thursday, May 28, during normal business hours at the administration building and online at White County Finance Department.
