Triple shooting leaves two dead at LaGrange apartment complex

Two people are dead and a third person was injured after a triple shooting at a LaGrange apartment complex. The incident happened late Monday night according to the LaGrange Police Department.

On September 7, 2026, officers were called to 1235 Hogansville Road regarding multiple people having been shot. LaGrange police arrived on scene and located Drevion Brewer outside, deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. Officers were able to determine that this incident occurred inside apartment 922.

Upon entering the apartment to check for further victims, officers located Amarious Williams inside, suffering from numerous gunshot wounds. Williams was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The third victim, a juvenile, was located in the area and found to be suffering from a single gunshot wound to the leg. The juvenile was transported to a local area hospital to receive treatment, but the juvenile’s injuries appear to be non-life-threatening.

The Lagrange Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene and began an investigation. Detectives identified Joshua Preston as a suspect in this incident. Preston was located and taken into custody. Preston was charged with the following crimes: two counts of malice murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime with more charges expected to be filed.
