Gainesville man charged in string of taxi robberies

GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Gainesville police have arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with a string of robberies involving taxi drivers.

Dwayne Bailey is charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of theft of services.

Investigators allege Bailey used a taxi service to travel to a local apartment complex. When asked to pay the fare, he allegedly stole money and fled on foot.

Police said the investigation remains ongoing and additional charges are possible.
