(NowGeorgia.com)

The Lagrange Police Department responded to the Lagrange Academy, 1501 Vernon Road, earlier this afternoon regarding a report of a 16-year-old student who had made threats to shoot students and then commit suicide.

Lagrange Police officers responded and found that the school administration had already separated the student from the rest of the student population. The student was taken into custody, and it was determined that the student was not in possession of any weapons. The student has since been transported to the Lagrange Police Department where it has been reported that the student is cooperating with authorities.

The Lagrange Police have determined that the facility was rendered safe and there was no ongoing threat of violence.
