
ATHENS, Ga. — A former Athens-Clarke County Tag Office employee faces more than 30 charges following an investigation into alleged fraudulent activity at the office.
Athens-Clarke County Police arrested 54-year-old Lilia Lozano of Athens on Aug. 18 after investigators obtained warrants in connection with the case. Lozano is charged with felony theft by taking, 10 counts of second-degree forgery, 10 counts of identity fraud, and 10 counts of making false statements.
Police did not release details about the alleged fraud, including how much money may have been involved or when the activity occurred.
The investigation remains ongoing.
