A popular Harris County steakhouse opened a new location in Columbus. Luke’s Pub and Steakhouse hosted a crowd of foodies at 5828 Moon Road near the airport Wednesday night. Co-owner Bobby Noland had a mixed reaction regarding the buzz generated across the city about the restaurant’s opening.
When asked if he was surprised by the local’s interest Noland said “Yes and no. Yes, because you know I’ve always been in the county. I mean I have a lot of following from the city, but I’ve never been in the city. No, because Luke’s Pub has been around for 40 plus years. I’ve had Luke’s since 1996 and Jerry Hall had it before me probably 15 years prior to that so the name, the job that we do, the food that we cook, the atmosphere that we create, enjoyment that people have when they get here, I expected it.”
Luke’s Pub on Moon Road is a smaller venue which seats 75 people compared to their Pine Mountain location which seats 135 guests. The new restaurant’s largest table can seat 8 people, and they will offer a wait list.
Noland explained to NowGeorgia.com how he came to select the new Columbus location. “I think it picked me. We really weren’t looking to come to Columbus. This place was available through a friend of mine Mark Jones, and it just seemed like a good opportunity and right now Pine Mountain has been overwhelming. It’s been a plus; it’s been a great thing and while we’re in full stride we just kept on moving. This place just found me.”
