TOCCOA, Ga. — A traffic stop on Big A Road led to a drug arrest Monday night after deputies with the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office found suspected methamphetamine during a consent search, officials said.

At about 9 p.m. May 18, a deputy stopped a bicyclist traveling without functioning lights, according to the sheriff’s office. The rider was identified as Loretta Allen, 50, of Toccoa.

During the stop, the deputy obtained consent to search Allen and her belongings. Authorities said the search turned up a large clear plastic bag containing suspected methamphetamine. The substance later weighed approximately 14 grams, according to the report.

Allen was arrested at the scene and transported to the Stephens County Detention Center without incident. She was charged with possession of methamphetamine and remains in custody pending a bond hearing in magistrate court.
