LaGrange teen arrested for multiple charges after shooting

A LaGrange teen has been arrested for multiple charges after a shooting involving a stolen firearm. On May 12, 2026, at approximately 1:06 a.m., Officers with the LaGrange Police Department responded to 106 Revis Street in reference to a person who had been shot.

Upon arrival, officers located Zyasia Sharpe suffering from a gunshot wound. The suspect, Ja Marcus Hall, was on scene when officers arrived. Officers immediately rendered aid to Sharpe until personnel from the LaGrange Fire Department and Troup AMR arrived. Sharpe was later airlifted to an Atlanta-area hospital for further treatment.

Hall was transported to the police department for questioning as detectives continued the investigation. Detectives determined Hall was in possession of a stolen firearm at the time of the incident. The firearm was recovered by detectives during the investigation.

As a result of the investigation, Hall was charged with:

  • Aggravated Assault
  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
  • Tampering With Evidence
  • Giving False Statements
  • Theft by Receiving Stolen Property
