We’re solidly inside our heat wave, with the hottest day of the year possible on Monday. A Heat Advisory has been again issued for most of Georgia. The Advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, August 17 for all but ten extreme Northeast Georgia mountain counties.
Heat index values of 104-107º are expected across north and central Georgia, with values of 108-112º across South Georgia.
An Extreme Heat Warning for heat index values up to 120º is again in effect for the coastal areas of Georgia and South Carolina.
For your safety, avoid strenuous outdoor work Sunday afternoon in areas covered by the heat advisory. If you must be outside, take frequent breaks and drink plenty of water.
