Showers and storms are possible for your Sunday as we deal with one last day of heat. Highs will be just below Saturday with low-90s likely and heat index values of 98-103º possible. Afternoon showers and storms are also likely, with a better chance coming after sunset into the overnight hours. This is thanks to a front that will be approaching from the west today then stalling over our region by Monday into Tuesday.
The latest modeling doesn’t show a full washout every day, but periods of rain are likely Monday and Tuesday as waves of low pressure ride along the stalled front. As you can see below there will be a fairly sharp cutoff of the best rainfall over the next week, but for the majority of our region we expect a solid 1-2+” of soaking rains which will help immensely with the drought.

Temperatures will be much more bearable as well with highs only in the 80s and even some upper-70s on Tuesday.
