Eight is great! TFS takes two matches to keep win streak alive!

Make it eight straight victories for #5-ranked Tallulah Falls. The Lady Indians swept both sides of their Tuesday tri-match with straight-set wins over Lumpkin County and Stephens County.

Against #9-ranked Lumpkin, TFS won 25-17, 25-16. In the first set, Tallulah took an early 5-0 lead. Lumpkin came right back after breaking Shelby Whisnant’s run and came within four points of the lead. The set remained tight until TFS turned up its game and left LC behind to finish 25-17.

Lumpkin took an early lead in the second set, but Tallulah Falls came back to tie it up at 13-13 before Whisnant went on a serving run of 10 to guide the girls to a 25-16 final.

Corinne Swinton led the offensive attack with eight kills, five aces, and a block. Tori Crotta contributed five kills and an ace, while Beatriz Araujo finished with five kills and Stella Bowman dropped four kills.
Shelby Whisnant finished with 2 kills and 3 aces.

Tallulah Falls was the heavyweight in its match against Stephens County, toppling the neighboring Indian tribe in two sets, 25-9 and 25-11.

“The match gave us a good chance to experiment with other offensive options,” says coach Matt Heyl.

Swinton finished with four kills and four aces. Araujo knocked down four kills, an ace, and a solo block. Bowman had four kills and 0.5 blocks.
