Northeast Georgia America 250 Celebration Guide

Communities across Northeast Georgia will celebrate Independence Day — and in many cases the nation’s 250th anniversary — with parades, festivals, concerts, lake celebrations and fireworks stretching from late June through mid-July.

Below is a county-by-county guide.

Banks County

Homer 4th of July Parade
July 4: 6 p.m. | Thompson Street
Celebrate America’s 250th birthday with a patriotic community parade in downtown Homer. The Parade will travel from the Banks County Recreation Department Field 9 down Thompson Street to Banks County Middle School. Residents are encouraged to dress in red, white, and blue and decorate bikes, golf carts, vehicles, floats, and wagons for the festive procession.

Barrow County

Celebrate America 250
July 4: 3-9:30 p.m. | Winder (Jug Tavern Park)
Full-day festival featuring a parade, live entertainment, carnival rides, food vendors, kids’ activities and fireworks.

Elbert County

Fourth of July Beach Bash
July 4: 12-4 p.m. | Richard B. Russell State Park
Lakeside celebration with swimming, recreation, family activities and fireworks over the water.

Forsyth County

68th Annual Thomas-Mashburn Steam Engine Parade
July 4: 10 a.m.-12 p.m. | Forsyth Central High School
Steam engine parade in the morning, then live music, vendors, family activities and fireworks at dusk.

Cumming Fairgrounds Celebration & Fireworks Show
July 4: 4-10 p.m. | Cumming Fairgrounds
Live music, vendors, food, drinks and activities on-site (no outside food or drink is allowed)
Fairgrounds Fireworks Show – 9:30 p.m. Enjoy the annual Fireworks Extravaganza from the fairgrounds or anywhere in downtown!

Habersham County

Demorest Glorious Fourth Festival
July 4: 9 a.m.-9:45 p.m. | Demorest
A full-day hometown celebration featuring a parade down Central Avenue at 11 a.m., live music, petting zoo, cornhole and horseshoe tournaments, vendors and fireworks at the park.

Red, White and Tunes
July 11: 5 – 10 p.m. | Clarkesville (Pitts Park)
Live music by Mixtape (90s cover band), fireworks, food vendors, bounce houses, face painting, beer and wine sales, and new America 250-themed additions including a children’s wagon parade and hot dog eating contest.

Hall County

62nd Annual Independence Day Celebration
July 4: 9 a.m. – 10:30 p.m.| Laurel Park (Gainesville)
One of North Georgia’s largest fireworks displays over Lake Lanier, with live entertainment, food vendors, children’s activities and all-day festivities.

Bethlehem Baptist Church annual 4th of July Celebration
July 4: 4 p.m. til dark | 6116 Lula Road (Hwy. 365), Lula
Enjoy an evening filled with food, singing and fellowship featuring The Stover Family, Jessie Kimbrel, Three for Thee, Faithful and Blessed, and The Land Family. Evening fireworks. Hamburgers and hotdogs will be served. No cost. Love offering accepted.

Lumpkin County

Dahlonega Fourth of July Celebration
July 4: 7 a.m. – 10 p.m. | Downtown Dahlonega
Parade, classic car show, Firecracker 5K, live entertainment and fireworks at the UNG Drill Field.

Madison County

Colbert Fourth of July Celebration
July 4: 6-10 p.m. | Colbert
Small-town parade, patriotic floats, community gathering and traditional Independence Day festivities.

Rabun County

Lake Rabun Wooden Boat Parade & Fireworks
July 5: 10:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. | Lakemont / Lake Rabun
Wooden boat parade, Rabun Ramble road race, lakeside gatherings and fireworks over the lake.

Lake Burton Fireworks
July 4: 9:30 p.m. | Lake Burton
Boat-access fireworks display viewed from shoreline and water.

Stephens County

Ida Cox Music Series

Live music series honoring Toccoa native Ida Cox with downtown concerts and community programming.

Towns County

Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds Fireworks

Union County

Freedom & Fireworks: The 250

Independence Day 250 at Freedom Park
