HART COUNTY, Ga. — A Winder man faces multiple charges after authorities say he attempted to force his way into a woman’s vehicle and later tried to enter a nearby home.
Hart County sheriff’s deputies responded to the Bakers Bridge Road area shortly after 7:30 a.m. Sept. 15, following a report that a man was attempting to enter a vehicle with a female driver inside.
While deputies searched the area, authorities received a second call reporting that the same man was trying to enter a nearby residence.
Deputies located the suspect and identified him as 37-year-old Michael Ryan Morris. Investigators said Morris did not know the woman he allegedly tried to carjack. Authorities also determined Morris was wanted in Barrow County for a probation violation.
Morris was arrested and charged with second-degree hijacking of a motor vehicle, a felony, as well as disorderly conduct, simple assault, and loitering.
Hart County EMS transported Morris to St. Mary’s emergency room for a medical evaluation. After being medically cleared, he was taken to the Hart County Jail.
