HART COUNTY, Ga. — A woman wanted on kidnapping-related warrants out of Maryland was arrested in Hart County after deputies stopped her vehicle on Interstate 85 and safely recovered two children.
According to the Hart County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a be-on-the-lookout (BOLO) alert at approximately 8:46 p.m. on July 6 for a vehicle traveling north on I-85. Authorities believed the driver was wanted on outstanding kidnapping-related warrants.
Deputies located the vehicle near Exit 177 and, with assistance from the Georgia State Patrol, conducted a felony traffic stop. The driver was taken into custody without incident.
Two young children were found inside the vehicle and were safely recovered. Officials said neither child was injured.
The driver was identified as 37-year-old Alicia Denise Brown of Atlanta.
According to the sheriff’s office, Brown is wanted by the Baltimore County Police Department on warrants related to the disappearance of a 10-year-old child who was reported missing in 2019. She is also wanted by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office on felony charges of interference with child custody.
Authorities said both jurisdictions confirmed the warrants remain valid, and Maryland officials indicated they will seek Brown’s extradition.
