ATHENS, Ga. — An 80-year-old Hull man died following a three-vehicle crash Thursday morning on Highway 29 North in Athens, police said.

Athens-Clarke County police responded to the crash near Talley Crossing around 6 a.m. Sept. 3.

Investigators said Wayne Voyles was driving a Chevrolet Equinox north in a southbound lane when he collided with a southbound Toyota Tacoma. The impact pushed the Tacoma into a Toyota Highlander, which was also traveling south.

All three drivers were taken by ambulance to a local hospital. Voyles later died from his injuries, according to Athens-Clarke County Police. The drivers of the Tacoma and Highlander were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Voyles is the eighth person to die in a traffic crash in Athens-Clarke County this year, according to police.
