TOCCOA FALLS, Ga. — Toccoa Falls College has officially become the University of Toccoa Falls, marking a new chapter for the Christian institution while maintaining its longstanding mission of Christ-centered higher education.
The name change took effect July 1.
“This new name more accurately reflects who we are today as a growing institution with multiple academic schools, including the Fetterman School of Nursing and the Chapman School of Graduate Studies,” said President Dr. Bob Myers. “The name change also acknowledges our expanding academic offerings, including graduate programs, and enrollment that now approaches 3,600 students.
Despite the new name, leaders emphasized that the university’s mission, values and day-to-day operations remain unchanged.
“Exactly fifty years ago, Toccoa Falls Institute became Toccoa Falls College to better represent what the institution had grown to be. Today, the University of Toccoa Falls represents the next chapter in that story,” Myers said.
Toccoa Falls University traces its roots back more than a century and says its commitment to biblical truth, academic excellence, Christ-centered community and spiritual formation remains at the heart of its mission.
