CORNELIA, Ga. — Police in Cornelia and Baldwin are investigating two similar incidents involving men accused of exposing themselves to women, though authorities say the suspects are not the same person.
In a statement released Friday, the Cornelia Police Department said it is working a case similar to one under investigation by the Baldwin Police Department. While the incidents share similarities, Cornelia officials emphasized that the suspects are different individuals.
Cornelia police said they have already made an arrest in their case but are not releasing the suspect’s name or additional details at this time because the investigation remains active.
“Although similarities in the crimes committed, they are not the same person,” the department stated. “The Baldwin Police Department is working hard to locate their suspect whereas we have been fortunate enough to have made an arrest.”
Authorities are asking the public to focus attention on helping Baldwin police identify their suspect.
According to the Baldwin Police Department, officers responded May 10 to an incident at the Habersham Retreat assisted living facility. Investigators released a digitally enhanced image of the suspect in hopes of generating leads.
Police said witness statements indicate the man may be driving a black Honda passenger car or a black sports car.
