
The Maneuver Center of Excellence and Fort Benning will host the U.S. Army’s Sullivan Cup International Best Armor Crew Competition featuring daily events open to the public. The competition begins today April 30 and continues through May 8 at Fort Benning.
The Sullivan Cup Competition will include the Thunderbolt challenge fitness competition, Pistol competition, Live-fire accuracy screening test, Live-fire competition & maintenance lane, Thunderdome shoot-off and Final charge. The Final Charge will be followed by the Sullivan Cup award ceremony in Marshall Auditorium.
Armor Week highlights the importance of mastering the fundamentals of its Armor and Cavalry formation capabilities and maintaining a lethal edge over potential adversaries, using both tanks and Bradley Fighting Vehicles to execute combined arms maneuver. Competitions like the Sullivan Cup recognize excellence throughout the force and across the Armor Branch. They allow schools to certify and adjust programs of instruction while assessing their ability to meet demands of the field and build mastery in the profession.
