
CLEVELAND, Ga. — White County Fire Services has joined several other local fire departments that have deployed crews to Brantley County to assist with ongoing wildfire response efforts.
A social media post from White County Public Safety stated that the county stands ready to assist as response efforts continue and conditions evolve.
The post added, “We ask our community to join us in keeping those affected by the fires, the responders working on the front lines, and the leaders making critical decisions in your thoughts and prayers.”
How to support wildfire victims
Officials said those looking to support families affected by the wildfires in South Georgia have several options.
Monetary donations can be made through the Georgia VOAD at https://www.gavoad.org. Donors are asked to select either the American Red Cross or Salvation Army and note which county the donation is for.
Organizations in Brantley County are also collecting items for displaced families. A full list is available at https://gema.georgia.gov/april-2026-wildfires.
Donations for first responders in Brantley County have reached maximum capacity. Officials said those wishing to contribute should hold donations for future needs.
