Subject remains at large after Franklin County manhunt

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ga. — An extensive manhunt in Franklin County has failed to locate a man wanted by authorities. Search crews used a Georgia State Patrol helicopter, Department of Corrections K-9 teams, and drones, but the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said the search was unsuccessful.

Officials believe the man may have gotten a ride from a passing motorist and left the area.

Officers searched the area near Old Federal Road and E. Aerial Road throughout the evening on Thursday, Oct. 15. Officers remained in the area overnight. The sheriff’s office urged residents to stay alert, secure their homes and vehicles, and call 911 if they see anyone suspicious.

Although they have not publicly said why they are searching for the man, authorities advise against approaching him. They provided a photo of him, but did not release his name.

If you see the man in the photo above, call 911 or the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office at 706-384-2525.
