GAINESVILLE, Ga. — Authorities are investigating after a person was struck by a Norfolk Southern train Sunday afternoon in Gainesville. The incident prompted the temporary closure of the intersection of Dorsey Street and Industrial Boulevard.

The railroad reported the incident around 2 p.m. on July 26. Emergency crews responded, and the intersection remained closed for a time while authorities investigated.

Officials have not released the person’s condition or any additional details about what led to the incident.

No one else was injured.
