Investigators searching for a Florida murder suspect with ties to several West Georgia counties are continuing to pursue every lead but have yet to develop any credible information about her whereabouts.

Isabelle Rose Johnson is wanted in connection with the July 8 fatal shooting of 49-year-old Jason Coulthart inside a home on East Nursery Road in Walton County, Florida. Authorities have described her as armed and dangerous.

Johnson has been known to frequent several Georgia communities, including Carroll County, Harris County and the city of Newnan. She also has known ties to Covington County and Geneva County in Alabama, as well as Okaloosa and Walton counties in Florida.

The suspect

Authorities describe Johnson as a white woman who is approximately 5 feet, 3 inches tall and weighs about 120 pounds. She has brown hair and hazel eyes, although investigators believe she may have recently cut her hair short and changed its color in an effort to disguise her appearance.

Johnson is known to use multiple aliases, including Harley, Jessica Elaine Bowman, Jessica Elaine Thrush, Jessica Elaine Thrash, Jessica Dowdy and possibly “Denise.”

Investigators said she is believed to travel between multiple locations and has been known to manipulate people into providing transportation, money or other assistance by claiming to be a victim of domestic violence or other hardships.

The victim

As the search for Johnson continues, the Walton County Sheriff’s Office is urging the public to remember the life of the man at the center of the case.

In a social media post Thursday, the agency shared memories from Coulthart’s family, describing him as a devoted father, loyal friend and generous man who was always willing to help others.

According to the sheriff’s office, Coulthart grew up in New Jersey before spending time in Florida. Friends nicknamed him “Jersey,” while family members remembered him as someone who loved sports, the outdoors and spending time at his family’s longtime cottage on Lake Ontario.

His parents, Ken and Sandy Coulthart, said he was known for helping people without expecting anything in return. Since his death, they have received numerous messages from people sharing stories of his kindness, including accounts of Coulthart restoring electricity to a neighbor’s home and buying groceries for someone in need.

The family said they hope people remember Coulthart not only as the victim in a homicide investigation, but as “someone who showed up, someone who made people feel cared for, someone worth knowing.”
