Lunchtime traffic accident

The noon lunch-time traffic past the McDonald’s in Clarkesville experienced delays as Clarkesville PD worked to clear a wreck. According to Corporal Adam Ray, a woman in her 60’s was traveling north on historic 441 toward Clarkesville when she lost control of her car. The car jumped the curb and hit the brick sign on the front lawn of the McDonald’s. Damage to the sign can be seen in the picture. Corporal Ray indicated that the woman “appeared to be in visible distress” due to a possible medical condition. The driver was taken to Habersham Medical Center for evaluation. The scene was cleared by 12:45pm.
