A local businessman who was reported missing May 8, 2026, by the Columbus Police Department and later located safe is now facing multiple felony sex charges. Clarence Brown disappeared from his business on East Britt David Road in Columbus where investigators allege the sexual misconduct occurred.

The Columbus Police Department arrested Brown following an investigation into allegations of inappropriate conduct at Nu You Experience in the 3800 block of E. Britt David Rd. The investigation began after an individual reported inappropriate contact during a massage.

As detectives continued investigating, a second person came forward with a similar allegation. During the investigation, detectives learned Brown had left the country.

On June 15, 2026, Brown was detained by U.S. Customs and airport authorities upon re-entering the United States in Miami, Florida. He was later taken into custody by CPD’s Fugitive Unit and extradited to Columbus. Following additional interviews and a review of the evidence, detectives established probable cause and obtained warrants charging Brown with:
• Sexual Battery x2
• Aggravated Sexual Battery
• Masturbation for Hire x2
• Unlawful Acts (Massage Therapy Practice Act)
• Acting Without a License
• Obscene Material
• Giving Massages in a Place Used for Lewdness, Prostitution, Assignation, or Masturbation for Hire
• Utilization of Federal Work Authorization Program

Brown is being held at the Muscogee County Jail. The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact Cpl. Bethani Thompson at 706-225-4351 or [email protected].
