Heat Advisory for most of Georgia Friday

Our next heat wave is here across the state and a heat advisory has been issued for most of the state on Friday.

A heat advisory is in effect for all but the ten extreme Northeast Georgia mountain counties from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday. Heat index values of 104-107º are expected across north and central Georgia, with values of 108-112º across South Georgia.

In extreme Southeast Georgia, a rare Extreme Heat Warning is in effect along the coast where an unheard of 115-120º heat index is expected on Friday afternoon.

Remember to avoid strenuous outdoor work on Friday afternoon, and if you must be outside take frequent breaks and drink plenty of water.
