Habersham Central High School Senior Anea Harris has been named a Posse Scholar through the Posse Atlanta Scholarship Program. The program seeks to recognize and support outstanding young leaders.
Sixty scholars were selected from among approximately 1400 nominees to receive a full tuition scholarship from one of six partner universities.
Harris is one of ten scholars selected by Boston University to receive a four-year scholarship worth approximately $220,000.
Posse Scholars participate in workshops that focus on academic excellence, team building, cross-cultural communication, and leadership prior to starting their college career. Once on the college campus, scholars have opportunities for career development and internships with industry-leading companies and organizations.
Harris is the daughter of Marcus and Crystal Bowens of Demorest.
