Murder suspect may be in North Georgia

HABERSHAM COUNTY, Ga. — A woman wanted in connection with a Northwest Florida murder investigation may be in North Georgia, according to law enforcement.

Authorities are searching for 38-year-old Isabelle Rose Johnson, who is charged with murder in the death of 43-year-old Jason Christopher Coulthart.

Coulthart was reported missing to the Niceville Police Department on May 24. Weeks later, investigators discovered human remains buried in a shallow grave on a property off Sunset Lane in Freeport, Florida. A medical examiner later confirmed through DNA testing that the remains were Coulthart’s.

As the search for Johnson continues, investigators in Florida have arrested at least four people accused of helping her avoid capture, according to media reports.

Known ties across Georgia and Alabama

Investigators say Johnson has known ties to several Georgia communities, including Habersham County, Athens-Clarke County, Carroll County, Harris County and the city of Newnan. She also has connections to Covington and Geneva counties in Alabama, as well as Okaloosa and Walton counties in Florida.

Authorities describe Johnson as a white woman, around 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighing approximately 120 pounds. She has brown hair and hazel eyes, but investigators believe she may have recently cut and dyed her hair to change her appearance.

Johnson is known to use multiple aliases, including Harley, Jessica Elaine Bowman, Jessica Elaine Thrush, Jessica Elaine Thrash, Jessica Dowdy and possibly “Denise.”

Authorities warn suspect is dangerous

Investigators believe Johnson frequently moves between locations and has been known to manipulate people into providing transportation, money or other assistance by claiming to be a victim of domestic violence or other personal hardships.

Authorities also say she has a floral tattoo on her left hand near her thumb and forefinger and another tattoo on her right ankle.

Walton County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Corey Dobridnia told Now Georgia that Johnson was recently arrested in Carroll County, Georgia.

Booking records provided by the sheriff’s office show she was arrested in Walton County, Florida, in March 2025 on a felony grand theft charge and again in August 2025 on misdemeanor charges of driving with a suspended license and possession of drug equipment.

Johnson is known to use multiple aliases, including Harley, Jessica Elaine Bowman, Jessica Elaine Thrush, Jessica Elaine Thrash, Jessica Dowdy and possibly “Denise.”

Officials warn that Johnson should be considered dangerous. Anyone who sees her should not approach her and should call 911 immediately.

Reward offered for information

A reward of up to $11,000 is being offered for information leading to Johnson’s arrest.
