HABERSHAM COUNTY, Ga. — A woman wanted on a Florida murder charge who has known ties to Habersham County and several other North Georgia communities could be in the area, according to local and Florida authorities.
The Habersham County Sheriff’s Office issued the alert July 16 at the request of the Walton County Sheriff’s Office in Florida to help notify local residents.
According to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, 38-year-old Isabelle Rose Johnson is wanted for murder in connection with an ongoing investigation after human remains were discovered buried in a shallow grave on a property off Sunset Lane in Freeport, Florida.
Walton County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Corey Dobridnia said Johnson also has a recent arrest in Carroll County, Georgia.
Booking records provided by the sheriff’s office show Johnson was arrested in Walton County, Florida, in March 2025 on a felony grand theft charge and again in August 2025 on misdemeanor charges of driving with a suspended license and possession of drug equipment. The records also list numerous aliases associated with Johnson.
Investigators said Johnson has been known to frequent Habersham County and several other Georgia communities, including Athens-Clarke County, Carroll County, Harris County and the city of Newnan. She also has known ties to Covington County and Geneva County in Alabama, as well as Okaloosa and Walton counties in Florida.
Authorities describe Johnson as a white woman who is approximately 5 feet, 3 inches tall and weighs about 120 pounds. She has brown hair and hazel eyes, although investigators believe she may have recently cut her hair short and changed its color in an effort to disguise her appearance.
Johnson is known to use multiple aliases, including Harley, Jessica Elaine Bowman, Jessica Elaine Thrush, Jessica Elaine Thrash, Jessica Dowdy and possibly “Denise.”
Investigators said she is believed to travel between multiple locations and has been known to manipulate people into providing transportation, money or other assistance by claiming to be a victim of domestic violence or other hardships.
Authorities believe Johnson has a floral tattoo on her left hand near her thumb and forefinger and another tattoo on her right ankle.
The Walton County Sheriff’s Office warns that Johnson should be considered dangerous. Anyone who sees her should not approach her and should call 911 immediately.
Anyone with information about Johnson’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Walton County Sheriff’s Office at 850-892-8111. Those wishing to remain anonymous may contact Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers at 850-863-8477. A reward of up to $11,000 is being offered for information leading to her arrest.
