Driver charged with DUI after rollover crash on GA 105

HABERSHAM COUNTY, Ga. — A Cornelia driver faces DUI and traffic charges following a rollover crash with injuries Tuesday evening in the Fairview Community. The Georgia State Patrol identified the driver as 27-year-old Morgan Madison. Troopers charged Madison with driving under the influence and failure to maintain lane.

According to the preliminary crash report, Madison was driving a Toyota 4Runner south on GA 105 and lost control in a curve near Hilton English Road.

The SUV traveled off the highway and down an embankment before striking another embankment. It then crossed Hilton English Road and overturned, coming to rest on its roof along the west side of GA 105.

Habersham County Emergency Services responded shortly before 6 p.m. Sept. 8. Emergency personnel found Madison’s passenger, 29-year-old Robert Brock of Cleveland, unresponsive at the scene.

Ambulances transported Madison and Brock to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville with injuries authorities later described as non-life-threatening.

The crash blocked one lane of traffic until approximately 7:30 p.m.
