Chester Lee Skelton

Chester Lee Skelton, age 96, of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2023.

Mr. Skelton was born on July 29, 1927, in Paulsboro, New Jersey, to the late Lamon and Marry Lee Wood Skelton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Warren Skelton. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas Lamon Skelton, of Spartanburg, SC, and William Everett Skelton, of Gainesville, VA.

Mr. Skelton was a very patriotic man, having proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He will be remembered as a faithful Christian man and was a member of First Baptist Church of Cornelia. He was a United States Postal Service carrier.

Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at the Yonah Memorial Gardens with Dr. Nathan LaShoto officiating.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at the Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel.
