Carol Kay Harrison

Carol Kay Harrison, age 74, of Homer, Georgia, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 27th, 2026.

She was born in Chamblee, Georgia, to the late Frank and Josephine Stewart. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Stewart; brother, Jackie Stewart; brother, Jimmy Stewart; and sister, Barbara Singleton.

Carol is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Steve Harrison; son, Chris Harrison; sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Tom McCarty; sister and brother-in-law, Patti and Joe Shubert; sister and brother-in-law, Fran and Royce Jackson; brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Beverly Harrison; niece and great nephew, Kim and Grayson Bowers; niece and nephew, Crystal and Mark Lauder; nephew, Allen Clark along with many other loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

Carol was a sweet, loving, and independent woman whose beautiful smile could brighten the lives of those around her. A godly woman, she lived her life with a strong heart and a caring spirit, leaving a lasting impression on her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Carol had a love for the simple joys of life. She loved flowers, singing, dancing, and even cutting grass. She was also known for her kindness and generosity, often sharing her love with others through something she enjoyed making, her cakes. She will be fondly remembered for taking cakes to the Homer Drug Store, Banks County Sheriff’s Office, and Commerce Veterinary Hospital, bringing a little sweetness and joy to those she cared about.

She will be remembered for her sweet spirit, beautiful smile, independent nature, strong faith, and the love she so freely gave to others. Though she will be greatly missed, the memories she created and the lives she touched will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for the tremendous outpouring of love, kindness, prayers, and support shown by the community during this difficult time. Every gesture of love and compassion has meant more than words can express.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.
