HALL COUNTY, Ga. — A Gainesville man jailed since February on child sexual exploitation charges now faces 25 additional felony counts after investigators said they discovered evidence involving five more child victims. According to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, the new evidence was discovered during a forensic examination of Alex Masato Bohac’s electronic devices.
Bohac, who turned 20 while in custody at the Hall County Jail, was arrested on Feb. 26 after Hall County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) investigators executed a search warrant at his home on Cove Overlook Road. He was initially charged with 16 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor involving a 14-year-old Texas girl and has remained in jail without bond.
Over the past four months, investigators analyzed several electronic devices seized during the search. According to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office, forensic processing uncovered more than 12,000 videos and screen recordings.
The investigation resulted in the new felony charges involving the original victim and five additional child victims.
The new charges include 10 counts of persuading or coercing child victims to engage in sexually explicit conduct, nine counts of producing child sexual abuse material (CSAM), and six counts of grooming child victims for indecent purposes.
Investigators said Bohac contacted the victims through OmeTV, a video chat platform that randomly pairs users. Authorities said none of the victims are believed to live in the Hall County area.
