
FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ga. — The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office responded to multiple incidents over the past week, including a barricaded suspect and a burglary investigation that led to two arrests.
On Friday, March 20, deputies attempted to serve an arrest warrant on Jim Grizzle Road. During the operation, deputies encountered a barricaded gunman, said Sheriff Scott Andrews.
Authorities said the situation was resolved peacefully before a Georgia State Patrol SWAT team arrived. The suspect was taken into custody without injury to any law enforcement personnel or civilians at the scene. A second individual was also arrested on unrelated charges connected to a prior investigation.
Burglary bust
In a separate case, investigators executed a search warrant on Friday, March 27, at a residence on Grady School Road. According to the sheriff’s office, two suspects were arrested in connection with a series of storage unit burglaries in Franklin County.
During the search, investigators said they recovered numerous stolen items from the home, as well as from vehicles and multiple storage buildings on the property.
The sheriff’s office credited deputies from both the patrol and criminal investigations divisions for their work in resolving the cases.
