Early voting for the primary runoff in Columbus ends tonight at 7:00 pm. Registered voters can cast a ballot for the runoff even if they didn’t vote in the primary. Voters must go to the City Services Center on Macon Road to cast their ballot during early voting.

According to the Muscogee County Elections Office, 10,334 people had already cast their votes through Thursday night.

The next mayor of Columbus, between Columbus City Councilor Joanne Cogle and former city manager, Isaiah Hugley, will be decided in this election.

Voters will also determine the outcome of two council seats. John Anker and Dr. Cathy Cook are on the ballot for the District 9 City Council seat, a citywide position that impacts every neighborhood.

The other race is for Council District 7, which represents Uptown and the Historic District in a seat vacated by Cogle. The runoff is between Laketha Ashe and Rebecca Zajac.

The primary runoff is June 16, 2026, which is the last day to vote. On that date, voters must go in person to their precinct to cast a ballot.
