WHITE COUNTY, Ga. — Authorities are investigating after a hiker discovered two bodies on Mount Yonah late Wednesday morning.
The hiker found the remains around 11:20 a.m. Sept. 9, according to the White County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff’s office investigators and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources responded to the scene. The sheriff’s office also requested assistance from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s Region 8 Crime Scene Unit to process the area.
Authorities have not released the identities of the deceased or information about the circumstances surrounding their deaths.
The investigation remains ongoing.
