On May 23, Polly Earle, a member of the Historic Clarkesville Cemetery Preservation, Inc. Board of Directors replaced faded flags at the cemetery. Joined by Prynne Reason Dockery, 4, of Clarkesville, the project offered a chance to impart a bit of local history to a younger generation.

It is estimated more than 20 veterans rest at the cemetery, some in unmarked graves. The cemetery project remains a priority for HCCP, Inc. but special events are on hold until the fall.
