Habersham County turned 200 years old today. It was established on December 15, 1818 and became Georgia’s 46th county.

To mark the occasion, the county threw a birthday party at the Community House in Cornelia. Several dozen people turned out to join in the celebration.

The afternoon event included a cake cutting, door prizes, and presentations thanking bicentennial committee members.
