CLEVELAND, Ga. — A five-month drug investigation by the White County Sheriff’s Office has resulted in the arrest of two people following the execution of a search warrant at a Cleveland residence.

According to Sheriff Rick Kelley, the investigation began after the sheriff’s office received multiple complaints from residents in the Kellum Valley community regarding suspected drug activity.

Investigators and deputies conducted what officials described as an in-depth investigation before executing a search warrant June 3 at a residence located at 107 Hazel Nut Drive.

Authorities arrested Michael Kelly Small, 60, of Cleveland, at the scene. He was transported to the White County Jail and charged with two counts of sale of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and possession of a drug-related object.

Kimberly Workman, 26, of Gillsville, was also arrested during the search and taken to the White County Jail. She is charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of a drug-related object. Authorities said Workman also had outstanding warrants from Hall and Dawson counties.

The White County Sheriff’s Office is encouraging anyone with information about suspected drug activity to contact the agency.

The investigation remains ongoing.
