The next several days will continue to bring hot weather and low rain chances to North Georgia. Despite models consistently showing storm chances in the 2-3 day range, the closer we get the lower those chances go. However, an extremely isolated storm is possible on Thursday/Friday but chances are less than 10%.
Rain chances will go up just a tad on Saturday and really increase on Sunday as the upper level ridge “heat dome” drifts west and a surface high moves into the northeast. This will turn our winds to the east/northeast and usher in a much better chance of showers/storms along with some significantly cooler air for Labor Day.
With Edouard dissipating over Texas the tropical Atlantic returns to a quiet state as the extremely strong El Nino in the Pacific creates enough wind shear over the Atlantic to hinder development.
