
HOMER, Ga. — Two men suffered critical injuries Wednesday after their pickup truck became lodged beneath the rear of a box truck and caught fire in Banks County.
Deputies and bystanders helped pull both men from the wreckage, according to Banks County Fire and Emergency Services.
Emergency crews responded to the crash at Highway 441 North and Highway 51 North at 5:49 p.m. Sept. 2. They found the pickup beneath the box truck, with both men trapped inside.
EMS transported the men to Northeast Georgia Medical Center with critical traumatic injuries and minor burns, said Banks County Fire Chief Steve Nichols.
The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash.
