Two arrested on drug charges following investigation in Towns County

On Tuesday, April 8, two Hiawassee men were arrested on drug charges following a follow-up investigation conducted by Towns County Sheriff’s Office investigators at a residence on Rogers Road.

According to the Towns County Sheriff’s Office, investigators established probable cause and executed a search of the property that resulted in the seizure of methamphetamine and various drug-related items.

Nathaniel Jerome Edwards Jr., 48, was taken into custody and charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession and use of drug-related objects.

Joseph Lee English, 62, was also arrested and faces charges of felony possession of methamphetamine, felony probation violation and misdemeanor possession and use of drug-related objects.

Officials noted that the investigation remains ongoing.
