On February 17, 1968, she married Thomas Raymond Bryan, Jr., and together they shared a life filled with love and travel. She met her husband while singing in the church choir, and they continued to sing together until his death.
Suzanne dedicated much of her life to shaping young minds as a kindergarten and preschool teacher, a role she embraced with patience and care. She and her husband loved to travel, with Prague holding a special place among their favorite destinations.
She loved listening to music and singing, frequently enjoying music on YouTube and especially live performances. She was an avid reader who particularly enjoyed suspense novels by James Patterson.
A lifelong fan of The University of Alabama, Suzanne could often be found wearing her Alabama shirts and proudly cheering “Roll Tide.”
She made her home over the years in Columbus, Georgia; Johnstown, Pennsylvania; Savannah, Georgia; and Paducah, Kentucky. In 2009, she moved to Kennesaw, Georgia, where she remained until her death. She cherished the many friendships and memories formed in each place, especially in her later years.
Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Thomas Raymond Bryan, Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Candice Sherlock (Brian) and Ginger Gouty (Billy); grandchildren, Jacob Gouty, Yasmine Byrne (John), Cullan Sherlock (Alicia), Caitlin Bailey (Brandon), and Aidan Sherlock; and great-grandchild, Micah Bailey.
Suzanne is resting peacefully at Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus, Georgia, near her parents and grandparents.
A celebration of life will be held at First Baptist Church, Columbus, Georgia, on June 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel.
