MURRAYVILLE, Ga. — One person suffered minor injuries in a residential fire Monday in Murrayville, according to Hall County Fire Rescue.

Crews responded around 2:45 p.m. on Oct. 26 to the 7600 block of Maple Place, where they found smoke coming from the attic of a two-story home. Firefighters encountered heavy smoke and heat inside and located the fire toward the front of the house, said HCFR spokesperson Kimberlie Ledsinger.

Crews put out the fire and used fans to clear the remaining smoke.

The resident escaped the burning home before firefighters arrived and was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville for treatment. Ledsinger said there were no other occupants inside the residence.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office.
