COLUMBUS, Ga. — Protesters took to the streets of Uptown Columbus Saturday morning for a ‘No Kings’ march and rally to voice opposition to the Trump administration. The local event sponsored by Phenix City and Columbus Indivisible is part of a nationwide movement and the third protest of its kind. Jennifer Collins and her husband have attended all three protests in Columbus. “Numbers are important,” Collins said.

“There’s just such a feeling of camaraderie, and that we’re all in this together, and as long as we stick together, then we can make change even if it doesn’t happen today. It might be a year from now. It might be two years from now, but it will happen if we stay together and keep showing up.”

Protesters held signs taking aim at President Trump’s policies, ICE, the war in Iran, and the Epstein files, among other issues. Tracy Ramirez told Now Georgia she’s always wanted to attend one of the events. Ramirez runs a small food delivery business but says she struggles to feed her clients because of the current price of beef and chicken.

“I mean, it’s like, who is this president? He starts wars. He calls people from other countries dirty names. I mean, who the hell does he think he is?” Ramirez asked rhetorically.

“I cannot wait until he’s out of office and we get somebody in there that’s going to reverse everything that he’s done…he thinks he’s God. He thinks he’s a king. I think he’s the antichrist, to be honest with you. I don’t want to sound silly, but I really think all these crazy Trump lovers who think that he’s just so wonderful, what has he done for you? What has he done for you unless you’re a millionaire? What has he done for you? He’s done nothing for you. He’s done nothing but take things out of your pocket,” Ramirez said.
