The Russell County prosecutor handling the case of Kamarie Holland tells NowGeorgia.com that some details about the heinous crime have not yet been disclosed to the public. District Attorney Rick Chancey declined to elaborate on those details but said more information would be revealed during a trial for Corey Holland, the father of the 5-year-old victim.
Chancey said his office will seek the maximum penalty of 12 months in jail for Corey Holland after he was indicted on one count of reckless endangerment for violating a custody agreement prohibiting Kamarie Holland’s mother from visitation with the child. “It wasn’t his first time,” Chancey noted.
Kamarie Holland’s mother Kristy Siple sold her 5-year-old daughter to Jeremy Williams for oral sex in 2021. Williams forced the child to smoke methamphetamine before brutally raping, sodomizing and strangling the little girl to death in his former abandoned home in Phenix City. He continued performing sex acts on her corpse and videotaped the ordeal on his cell phone. Williams will be executed Thursday in Atmore, Alabama for the gruesome murder.
DA Chancey said Siple was given a plea deal in exchange for her cooperation. Chancey said at the time he couldn’t risk relying only on statements provided by the killer to get a conviction at trial. Siple was initially facing a life sentence but received 20 years in prison and provided a detailed account of her involvement after the plea deal.
Kamarie Holland’s father told a local television station in Columbus that he is not permitted to witness the execution of Jeremy Williams. DA Rick Chancey said his office had nothing to do with that decision. According to the Alabama Department of Corrections witnesses to the execution are approved by the Alabama Attorney General’s Office. NowGeorgia.com has not received a response from the Attorney General after making a request for comment on the matter.
DA Rick Chancey said by law he is not allowed to witness the execution of Williams either, but he plans to travel to Atmore, Alabama where the execution will be carried out at Holman Correctional Facility. “I am glad we are here in this short amount of time for Kamarie’s memory and all the people he has injured over the years. There are people associated with this case that have dealt more with my office and the Sheriff’s Department than anyone else. I want to be there for them.” Chancey said the sheriff was also prohibited from witnessing the execution.
WSB TV reports in 2022, Williams was also charged with the 2005 death of his infant daughter in Alaska. Other victims of Jeremy Williams have since spoken about their own abusive encounters with the killer. “This man left a trail of destruction of children,” Russell County District Attorney Richard Chancey told the television station.
