Police are asking for the public’s help locating a missing person in Phenix City. Jaleel Baxter disappeared there May 5, 2026, and hasn’t been seen since. Local police and his mother are now pleading for help.
On 05/15/2026 at approximately 8:00 AM Eastern Standard Time, the Phenix City
Police Department took a report in the public safety building lobby about a missing
person. Pictured above is Jaleel Baxter, a 22-year-old man who has been missing
since May 5th, 2026.
He was last seen at the Roadway Inn at 1600 US Highway 280 Bypass wearing all black clothing, a black beanie, and black shoes.
Baxter’s mother says she is emotionally exhausted and devastated not knowing the well-being of her child in a post on social media. “I have done nothing but ride and walk around looking for my son. Showing his picture to anyone who will stop and look. Writing this has my insides in shambles. I just want my baby to return to his family,” Jackie Baxter shared in part on Facebook shortly after her son went missing.
