An early morning accident in Phenix City has claimed the life of a 12-year-old according to Russell County Coroner Arthur Sumbry. The juvenile was a passenger inside the vehicle that struck a tree.
The incident occurred on Pine Ridge Trail in Phenix City. The 12-year-old was pronounced dead on the scene at 6:23 am March 28, 2026. His body will be sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science in Montgomery for an autopsy.
