HART COUNTY, Ga. — One person was airlifted to a hospital and another was transported by ambulance following a two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon in Hart County.

According to the Hart County Sheriff’s Office, deputies, along with Hart County EMS and the Hart County Fire Department, responded shortly after noon June 8 to a collision at the intersection of Adamstown Road and Lankford Road.

A preliminary investigation found that one vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign on Adamstown Road before entering the intersection, where it was struck by a second vehicle traveling on Lankford Road toward Lavonia.

Authorities said one of the drivers suffered injuries serious enough to require transport by LifeFlight helicopter. The second driver was taken by Hart County EMS to a hospital for treatment.

The identities of those involved and the extent of their injuries were not immediately released.

The crash remains under investigation by the Hart County Sheriff’s Office.

Hart County Sheriff Chris Carroll asked residents to keep those involved in their thoughts and prayers.
